A wise person once told me that if you want to do well at your job or in your business, you need to tell yourself over and over that you are the best.
For example, if you are a writer and you want to be successful in your job, every night before you go to sleep, tell yourself repeatedly that you are the best writer that your company has ever seen. It may sound strange at first and you may feel the complete opposite of what you’re saying, but it does work.
You can’t just say it once and forget about it. You have to say it over and over every night and you will start to see a difference in the way you work. If it helps, write it down on a sheet of paper and hang it up on the wall near your bed so that you will be constantly reminded to say it every night.
It doesn’t matter what you want to be or what you want to do, if you want to be the best at something, you have to convince yourself that you are the best every night until you actually start to believe it.
So if you are a customer service agent, tell yourself over and over, “I am the best customer service agent that this company has ever seen!” If you are a manager tell yourself, “I am the best manager at my company!” If you want to be the best basketball player tell yourself, “I am the best basketball player on my team!”
The more you convince yourself that you are the best, the more you will actually believe it and you will become more confident in yourself. In time you will find that your performance improves, your productivity increases, and this will boost your self-esteem.
